NMIMS Press Meet
On 21/06/2012, the inauguration of PGDM second batch commenced at MDP centre of NMIMS Hyderabad campus. Honorable Vice chancellor of NMIMS University Dr.Rajan Saxena inaugurated the program along with Mr. Sharlin Thayil, CEO, Bharthi Airtel, Andhra Pradesh.
The welcome address was by Dr. B. Karunakar, director NMIMS, Hyderabad. He emphasized on team work and continuous learning to be the road for excellence. He presented the journey of NMIMS from the date of its launch and presented the illustrious path of NMIMS Hyderabad.
Dr. Rajan Saxena pointed out the statistics as to how NMIMS has been continuously ranked amongst the top B Schools by leading Business magazines and has stood always to the expectation of the society. He stressed the importance of good pedagogy and continuous enhancement of knowledge of the faculty members to improve the competencies of themselves as well as the students. He urged the budding managers to continuously update and compete with the world to create a mark as a brand NMI MS. He presented the journey of NMIMS University since 1982.
Mr. Sharlin Thayil, CEO, Bharti Airtel, Andhra Pradesh provided the corporate expectation from the young budding managers. He presented the five skills which is required of a young leader. He coined in five key skills which is vital for any corporate leader-i.e. strong communication skills, leader in functional areas with a strong strategic orientation, winning attitude, strong interpersonal skills —which means that the individual should have a strong EQ along with a strong IQ. He also emphasized in the need for having managers who have ethics and integrity as a very strong link for establishing the human conduct in the work place. He advised the students to set their goals early and stay focused to materialize their dreams.
