AnandaPriya Foundation's Sri Krishnaleelamrutham, Hyderabad

AnandaPriya Foundation presents an enthralling Bharatanatyam recital - ‘Sri Krishnaleelamrutham’ by disciples of Geetha Genesan

Hyderabad, October 18, 2014: AnandaPriya Foundation presented a spellbinding Bharatanatyam dance recital by disciples of Geetha Genesan at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University Auditorium on Saturday. This presentation is part of AnandaPriya's continued commitment to create a platform for young and talented artists. Art and literature lovers turned up in large numbers to enjoy the performance. AnandaPriya Foundation, is a CSR initiative of RBC Worldwide.

About Anandapriya Foundation:
The objective of AnandaPriya Foundation is to provide the community the opportunity to enjoy access to Indian classical music, dance and contemporary painting. The Foundation also intends to hone English language skills in young adults by bringing out versions of global literature in the form of well-illustrated story books. So far, AnandaPriya has hosted several programmes starting with a Carnatic vocal concert by Sathiraju Venu Madhav, a concert lecture on Carnatic and Hindustani ragas by vocalist and violinist Dr. Sriram Parasuram and a Vilasini recital by Dr. Yashoda Thakore. AnandaPriya Foundation also hosted a Bharatanatyam recital by Priyadarshini Govind, the noted exponent, Guru and author and a Hindustani vocal recital by Kumar Mardur from New Delhi. AnandaPriya Foundation also presented the book releases of ‘Nrtta Ratnavali' - a treatise of classical dance and ‘Kaivalya - Joy in Yoga and Dance' authored by Dr. Yashoda Thakore. In keeping with the commitment to promote young and upcoming talent, AnandaPriya lent its stage to Kiranmayee Madupu, Himansee Katragadda and Akhila Kowuri.

About Guru Geetha Ganesan
Abhinaya Kala Ratna Geetha Ganesan is one of the illustrious Bharatanatyam dancers of the present generation. An accomplished exponent and an inspiring Guru, Geetha has won great appreciation as a performing artiste both in India and aboard. Recipient of many distinguished awards, Geetha has set many new milestones by performing, choreographing and teaching exquisite items of Bharatanatyam Margam and many dance dramas. Since her initial training under Guru Sri PR.Balakrishnan, Geetha has been under the guidance of Guru Sri V.S. Ramamurthy and Guru Smt. Manjula Ramaswamy. She holds a Masters Degree in Performing Arts from University of Hyderabad. Geetha is the Founder Director of the institution - Uttaraa Center for Performing Arts (UCPA) imparting training to students in the south Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam. Geetha has authored a book - ‘Basics of Bharatanatyam’ in the year 2004.

About the Performance:
Artistes and disciples of Guru Geetha Ganesan - V.K. Rishika, Amruta Mungikar, D.S. Aditi, Amulya Manja, Shivani, Bhuvaneshwari, Sreeveni, Shravya, Shambhavi and Rasagna presented Sri Krishnaleelamrutham with flawless abhinaya, nritta and nritya. The performance started with an invocation Pushpanjali - Gajavadana Beduve, in Amrutavarshini raga. This was followed by a well-choreographed Varnam in Kalyani raga authored by Smt. Rajee Narayan. Narration of episodes such as Sri Krishna jananam, Pootana vasham, Govardhanagiri dhaaranam, Kalinga nartanam, Draupadi maana samrakshanam and Geethopadesam were presented with a rare display of excellence. Coming up next was a harmonious Bhav geet by Suresh Bhatt (music originally composed by Sri Hridayanath Mangeshkar) which presented a playful Krishna playing with Gopikas and highlighted the artistes' skill in handling sringara rasa aesthetically. The scintillating Thillana in Brindavana Saranga raga, composed by Madurai N. Krishnan provided a fitting finale.
