Anushka is the highest paid Tollywood heroine who still holds the top position in the industry. She entered into film industry through Nagarjuna’s ‘Super’ and got a required break through ‘Arundathi’. Similarly her first Tamil film ‘Rendu’ with Madhavan as her co-star did not farewell at the box-office. But after a pretty long gap she bounced back through her 2nd film ‘Singham’ costarring Surya. Right now she is doing ‘Vaanam’ (remake of Vedam) under Krish’s direction. She also appears to be very careful in choosing the scripts when it comes to Tamil films since her first priority seems to be Telugu.

According to her the success lies in the scripts the actor/actress chooses. She says, “Good stories do not need stars. At the same time no star can do wonders with a weak script. I do not want to be the cause for film’s loss. My aim is always to do roles that earn me recognition and at the same time I also see to it that my producers do not incur loss due to me.”
