Srimannarayana reveals tough truths to the society-Ramesh Puppala
Added on August 16, 2012
After delivering the super hit film ‘Mirapakay’, producer Ramesh Puppala took up a different subject this time for his next film. Titled ‘Srimannarayana’, the story is based on how a selfless journalist plans and reveals the tough truths to the people in the society. For the first time in his career, Balakrishna played the role of a journalist. Director Ravikumar Chavali is going to portray Balakrishna in a never seen before character. RR Movie Makers will present this powerful film. Since the film is set for release this month end, producer Ramesh Puppala had a small chit chat with the media as part of film promotion.. Here are few excerpts:

This is your first film with Balakrishna.  Can you tell us your working experience with him?

Many have threatened me after they knew that I’m going to make a film with Balayya Babu.  But going by their personal opinions, had I dropped this project, I would have missed my association with a great human-being like Balayya.  I’m very happy for working with him.  He is very punctual and maintains his time perfectly.  No one except him would have done the character in this film.  It’s only with his cooperation that we were able to shoot nonstop and complete the film in 84 days.  He is a hero not just in films but also in real life. I would definitely prefer to work with him once again if I find a good story and a good director.”

How ‘Srimannarayana’ did begin?

Ravikumar Chavali came up with an interesting storyline and narrated it to me.  I was immensely impressed with it and immediately suggested him to meet Balayya Babu.  Fortunately Balayya okayed the script in the first sitting only.  After that Ravi sincerelyu worked on the script, developed the same and crafted the film excellently.

We are curious to know the storyline of this film.

The entire story of ‘Srimannarayana’ revolves around a journalist whose intention is to only eradicate the dirty politics by revealing the tough truths to the people.  The film deals with injustice done to farmers, army crimes, mafia gangs, selfish politicians and land grabbers.  We have made the film as a complete commercial entertainer along with a message to the people.  The audience will find punch dialogues as well as the father-mother sentiment.  Ghatikachalam’s dialogues are sure to pull the audience’s attention.  The scenes involving ‘Bava-Maradallu’ would make the audience relax and enjoy.

Where was the film shot?

We shot the film lavishly without compromising on anything.  While we shot a part of film in Hyderabad, the remaining was shot abroad.  A set costing Rs 1 crore was erected at overseas which would be the main highlight.  We shot few action scenes and songs in Malaysia and some part in Italy as well.  Similarly the audience will find never seen before locations of Switzerland in couple of songs.

How about the music in the film?

Chakri provided wonderful tunes to all 5 songs in the film and the response is amazing. Our album turned out to be the biggest hit of all films released so far in this year.  Chakri’s music in ‘Srimannarayana’ is much better than ‘Simha’.  The audience is thoroughly enjoying the film.  I thank Chakri for the super hit audio.  We are planning to organize a grand platinum disc function shortly.  There is tremendous response for the trailers also.

What’s your opinion on the director?

Ravi is a good friend of mine for the past 20 years.  He is a very sensitive person.  He never troubled me on any matter and would finish his work much before the scheduled time.  After the release of ‘Srimannarayana’, Ravi is sure to join the list of big directors.  The output of the film is much better than my expectation.  We are planning to release the film by this month end.

What can the audience look forward to with the film?  What can you tell them about it?

It’s an amazing film which is purely about how a selfless journalist tries to eradicate the illegal and criminal aspects from the society.
