People from a small village in South India are on a bus journey to the city filled with varied aspirations oblivious to the tragedy that is about to befall upon them. An accident on the way leaves many villagers coping with the loss of their loved ones.
Morning Raga is the story of three such lives inextricably linked by this tragedy and how they come to terms with their loss by a strong uniting force - Music.
Swarnalatha was a talented singer with a burning ambition to perform in the city. She lost her child and friend in the accident that fateful morning. She believes that she is cursed and holds herself responsible for the tragedy. She now spends her time in a self composed exile never daring to leave the village.
Abhinay survived the accident but lost his mother, who was an amateur musician in his village. His strained relationship with his father drew him to the city where he is now a successful advertising jingle composer. Not satisfied with manufacturing music to sell bubble-gums, he decides to compose music that will withstand the test of time. One day, Swarnalatha returns his mother's violin to him...
Pinkie, a young urban girl finds her self drawn to the same village as she is also affected by the tragedy and discovers an unfortunate truth about the accident. It is now imperative that she redeems herself of the wrongs from the past by helping Abhinay succeed in his musical endeavors.
