The triple platinum disc function of Ram Gopal Varma's SHOCK was held at Taj Krishna on the 4th of Feb. K. Raghavendra Rao and S.S. Rajamouli jointly presented the triple platinum discs of Shock to the unit members at the function which was attended by Ram Gopal Varma, Manmohan Shetty, Ravi Teja, Kona Venkat, Harish Shankar, Atul - Ajay and Kashmira Shah.

Producer Ram Gopal Verma said "This film was actually planned to be made in Hindi. But on the insistence of Ravi Teja, who showed an interest to act in the movie, the film was made in Telugu. Ravi Teja recommended Harish Shankar. Harish posses a uniquely different way of story telling. The whole creative credit of this film goes to him. I am proud to be associated with this film".

Director Harish Shankar speaking about the music of the film said "when I heard the devotional album composed by Ajay-Atul, I was so inspired by one particular song that I wanted them to modify that song. That song is 'Madhuram' which is my favorite song in the film. It enhances the on screen romance between the lead pair and also the mood of the film".

Music director duo Ajay - Atul said "This is our first film and we would like to thank Ram Gopal Varma and Harish Shankar for giving us this opportunity to compose music for a south Indian film. For we consider Ilayaraja as our god".

Manmohan Shetty of Entertainment One said, "Ram Gopal Varma's Factory is known for churning out films at rapid pace. And our motto being making more films, is the reason we are associated with his banner. We will make many more films in all languages".

Guest S.S. Rajamouli said that the distinct style and independent attitude of director Harish Shankar comes across quite clearly while watching the film's trailers.

Following the function Ram Gopal Varma and Suresh Kondeti held a joint press meet to clarify the shocking news that was released a few days earlier stating the non involvement of the latter with the film in any way that mattered. Ram Gopal Varma said that the lawyer notice published in newspapers was due to certain misunderstanding which was cleared later and that everything has been sorted out and that they are jointly producing and releasing the film.
