The audio of Ashok, starring NTR and Sameera Reddy, was released at a function organized at Yousfguda's Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium, today, 8th June amidst the film's cast and crew and a horde of celebrities and NTR fans. While NTR presented the first cassette to heroine Sameera Reddy, individual songs were released by each of the celebrity guests.

"Mumtaj Mahal" was released by K.Raghavendra Rao. "Jabiliki Vennelanista" was released by B.Gopal. Y.V.S. Chowdary released "Oka Chinni Navve". V.V.Vinayak released "Nuvvesukunna Dress". While Surender Reddy released "Enthandamga", C .Aswini Dutt, K.L .Narayana, Dil Raju, E.V.V, Maganti Babu & Valluripally Ramesh together released the song "Gola Gola".

"Ashok will be released in the first week of July" Producer Valluripalli Ramesh said "NTR co operated a lot for the film and I can tell how eagerly his fans are awaiting the film's release by the number of calls I am getting daily".

A self proclaimed senior NTR fan Y.V.S.Chowdary said "NTR is doing this film with a lot of passion .Ashok will break a lot of records" speaking about Ashok director Surender Reddy, Y.V.S. continued "though his previous film Athanokkade did not get the appreciation that it deserved, I am sure that with Ashok, Surender Reddy will prove himself to be an extra ordinary director".

Heroine Sameera Reddy, dressed traditionally in a pattu sari, thanked NTR, with whom she has acted with for the second time, and director Surender Reddy.

Guest V.V.Vinayak and Story writer Vakkantam Vamsi wished for the film's success.

Lyricists Chandra Bose and Bhaskarabatla also spoke on the occasion. While the former said that he had enjoyed writing down such meaningful lyrics, and later went on to sing the song "Jabiliki Vennelanista", Bhaskarabatla said that he would take a photo with NTR after the film was declared a hit.

"I did Ashok keeping my fans in mind" finally NTR took to the mike and spoke "I will let the film's success speak for the film. After Vakkantam Vamsi narrated the story to me, we asked Surender Reddy to direct the film and Ramesh to produce it. Though many people doubted Valluripalli Ramesh's ebility as a producer, I am telling now that it is because of him that the film's audio is being released today". Speaking of the rest of the film's crew he continued "with Ashok Sameera has proved how good an actress she is. Rajeev Kanakala's character is also quite different in Ashok. The choreographers had to work extra hard to match their steps to the absolutely fabulous music by Manisharma".

Getting emotional and nostalgic at that point NTR spoke of his career so far "it was to repay my debt to my grandfather that I became a hero. His films were an inspiration for me and I am indebted to him for that. It was Ashwini Dutt and Raghavendra Rao garu who stood by me to make Student No. 1 even though my first film was a flop. Then B.Gopal, Rajamouli and V.V.Vinayak helped me climb the success ladder. D.Suresh Babu and K.L.Narayana stood by me during my difficult times and I value their friendship a lot. I am indebted to all of them and to all my fans who have constantly supported me. I request all of you to forgive me for my mistakes I have made and promise not to repeat them in the future".
