The Evening of 26th June saw the grand felicitation of Minister T.Subbarami Reddy by the Indian Film Industry, at Shilpa Kala Vedika. Along with six Padma Bhushans, ANR, Dev Anand, C. Narayana Reddy, Yash Chopra, Shyam Benegal and Chiranjeevi, industry veterans K.Viswanath, D.Ramanaidu, Krishna, T.L.Kantha Rao, Gummadi, M.S.Reddy, Murali Mohan, Brahmanandam, Jamuna, K.Raghavendra Rao, K.L.Narayana, Parchuri Brothers and Vijaya Nirmala graced the occasion.

Actors Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Mohan Babu, actress Vijayashanti, Aswini Dutt, D.Suresh Babu, M.S.Raju, B.Gopal and S.V.krishna Reddy were also present at the event.

With Minister K.Rosayya presiding over, the event began with Vijayashanti, Dev Anand, Yash Chopra, Krishna and Chiranjeevi lighting the lamp. While Krishna presented the momento, Mohan Babu gave the citation.

"With hard work and dedication Subbarami Reddy had reached this stage in his life" Minister K.Rosayya said "he is a multi talented personality and I am sure that he will one day be elevated from Minister of State to Union Minister".

Singers Chitra, Kumar Sanu and Music Director K.M.Radha Krishnan, who performed at the ceremony, were presented with the TSR music awards. Gangadhar, Chalapati Raju, Vijaya Lakshmi and Surekha Murthy also performed on the occasion.

Ever young hero of the Indian film Industry Dev Anand said "Despite his stature Subbarami Reddy is very humane and a Philanthropist. He was the one who first took me to the Tirupati temple".

Where hero Balakrishna praised TSR as a shrewd business man with a spiritual insight, C.Narayana Reddy, who knew TSR since his college days in the Nizam, called him a warm hearted donor.

"TSR helped me get a loan of one crore for my educational institution" actor Mohan Babu said "and now my institution is at a stage of providing accommodation to 6000 students and free education to 25% of the students".

Veteran actress Jamuna said that she was indebted to TSR for the felicitation function he held for her in 1978 when she completed 25 years in the film industry. Veteran actor T.L.Kantha Rao also thanked TSR for all the personal help that the later bestowed upon him.

"I introduced TSR as an actor" D.Ramanaidu said "he appeared in guest roles in a couple of my films. We have over 35 years of association". M.S.Reddy read out a poem he had written in honor of TSR on the occasion while K.Viswanath described TSR as having personality traits of Lord Vishnu and the mental ability of Lord Shiva.

"T.Subbarami Reddy is an inspiring personality" actor and Padma Bhusan awardee Chiranjeevi said "he is always smiling and at peace with himself .When ever I am tired and feel over worked I think of him. He posses unique qualities. He spreads love which comes back to him in return. It is very nice to see a person who began his career on a cycle in a Nellore now become the Central Minister".

Finally T.Subbarami Reddy, whom actor Murali Mohan described as person who would love even people who hate him, took the mike and started of by professing his undying love for art and artists "I have served one district that I have chosen, for the past 25 years. My aim is to increase the use of the mines from the 75 thousand mines that we are using now to 9 lakh of all the mines we have spread over 18 lakh sq kilometer" he further added a note saying that gold mines were discovered in Ananthpur district.

The event jointly organized by Andhra Pradesh Kala Vedika, Rasamayi, Vamsee, Kinnera and Yuva Kala Vahini cultural outfits, was anchored by Suma.
