The audio of Pandurangadu was released on April 28th and received huge appraisals from the music lovers all over. The Double Platinum Disc Function of Pandurangadu was organized at Prasad Labs preview theatre on 11th May. Many top film personalities like hero of the film Nandamuri Balakrishna, director K. Raghavendra Rao, music director MM Keeravani, playback singer SPB, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Ramesh Prasad, VV Vinayak, B Gopal, Sekhar Kammula, Krish, R Narayana Murthy, Lyrisist Veda Vyas, Suddala Ashok Teja, LB Sriram, JK Bhairavi, Jayaram, Ali, Paruchuri brothers, Jagarlamudi and MVS Haranatha Rao graced the function.

Speaking on the occasion Paruchuri Gopala Krishna compared NTR to Gandhi by saying Gandhi for independence and NTR for self-respect to Telugus. He also added “Balakrishna looks stunning in Pandurangadu and we look for his doing more devotional, historical and mythological films in the near future. It’s a known fact that many devotional films in the past had made many pilgrimages popular, so I feel that ‘Pandurangadu’ will be one more film which will make another pilgrime called Chilakalapudi busy with devotees.”

“It’s a pleasant feeling to listen to the music of Pandurangadu without any influence of English and Hindi but with pure Telugu domination. I was a child when I watched the original Panduranga Mahatyam. One needs to be bold enough to attempt to remake the original Panduranga Mahatyam that too at par to the original,” expressed Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao.

Gamyam fame director Krish said, “Pandurangadu is not just a devotional film but also the story which carries a universal message of respecting the parents. This is a film which is for all ages.”

“After listening to the album of Pandurangadu, I could differentiate between the original version Panduranga Mahatyam and the latest. Keeravani did an excellent job for this film which is equally commendable. It’s difficult to imagine any other hero portraying the role in Pandurangadu than Balakrishna,” opined today’s youth sensation Sekhar Kammula.

Music Director MM Keeravani expressed his feelings while asking for apologies to music director Late Chakravarthy, Balasubramaniam and K Raghavendra Rao for offending them knowingly in the past. He said that his selfishness made him leave Dr Chakravarthy without informing when he was working with him. Also he felt guilty for disrespecting SPB by not choosing him for the songs that he deserves in some of his films. He also said that he had displeased K Raghavendra Rao in an incident.

“Knowingly or unknowingly I might have committed mistakes during the composition of the music of Pandurangadu, so my plea to Late TVS Raju is to forgive me. Balakrishna is the only hero who can replace his father NTR in mythological, historical and devotional films,” says Keeravani.

SP Balasubrahmanyam spoke few sentences about Pandurangadu saying, “It is nice pleasure to work for the film Pandurangadu and the songs being devotional with classical touch were really challenging for me. MM Keeravani is the only music director who has high regards and respects for Telugu language, hence able to provide the music that is equivalent to the old classics. As I’m busy with my concerts these days, I’m not able to contribute much to the films. Recently when I’ve been to Dubai, a sweeper in the airport expressed his happiness by saying that the songs in Pandurangadu are very nice. I have a strong belief that a good movie will always be liked by all, irrespective of categories like mass, class, youth etc. As per my knowledge NTR is the one who carries a godly image. In the next generation, Balakrishna being his son deserves to get that image by all means.”

“I’m overwhelmed with happiness after hearing to the response for the audio of Pandurangadu. This audio is impossible without these two great people, Keeravani and Balu. Pandurangadu is a devotional film which shows that the love of the devotee will defeat the love of God and also the relationship between the son and the parents. It’s a universal film which will be liked by all Telugus in the world. I’m very fortunate to be the son of NTR and also feel proud of him,” Nandamuri Balakrishna said in an aspiring tone.
