A critically acclaimed film ‘Minugurulu’, which is directed and produced by Ayodhykumar Krishnamsetty, depicts the problems faced by blind people. The film which has won many national and international awards has got the place in prestigious 87th Oscar contenders list. On this occasion, the film unit has arranged a press meet on Friday in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the press meet, Ayodhykumar Krishnamsetty said, "I'm very happy that 'Minugurulu' has got the place in prestigious Oscar Awards amidst heavy competition with over 323 films. Not just that, they also took permission to store the film permanently in Oscar Film library. It’s really a great achievement that ‘Minugurulu’ is the first ever Telugu film which got the honour. Our government is not encouraging children films as others states are encouraging them with tax reduction and so on. It will be good if our government also gives such encouragement.”
On this occasion, CPI Leader K Naryana said, “I’ve watched the film two times. It is very impressive. Political Leaders also should encourage such type of films. If proper support is given to such films, the makers can deliver many more films in future.”
In this press meet, TANA Executive Vice President Jampala Chowdary, Kishore, Lohith Kumar, Rajini, Naveen, Santhosh and N Shankar and some others were the prominent figures.
