On The Sets - Welcome Obama

Singeetam Srinivas Rao’s ‘Welcome Obama’ starring Urmila, Rechael, Sanjeev, Esthaban, Ananth Sriram, Bhuvanachandra, Balabhadrapatruni Ramani, Baasha, RJ Sekhar and Niranjani in central roles is presently progressing at Padmalaya Studios in Hyderabad.

On this occasion a press meet was held to brief the film details. Director Singeetam Srinivas Rao said, “We will talk about ‘Welcome Obama’ in detail during this month end. It’s a mix of entertainment and emotion. There is no political connection between Obama and our film. After watching the film one will understand why we have given the title ‘Welcome Obama’. We have shot few scenes in Park Hotel. Right now we are shooting a song on Mumbai dances in a specially designed set. We are shooting the film by choosing old and new artists as per the story demand. Producer Bharathi Krishna and Bharathi are well-educated producers. They are making the film like experienced persons despite this being their first film. When I did ‘Aditya 369’, many raised eyebrows questioning my future. At the same time during the making of ‘Bhairava Dweepam’, many has raised question asking who would prefer a folk subject in these days. Similarly a heroine rejected to do my film ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ saying that she is not interested to do a film where she has no dialogues. But nevertheless all films have been received well by the audience. So I believe that this film will also get recognition in lines with those films. Rohini is taking care of everything on the sets including the script. It’s a must watch film for everyone because it’s a comedy entertainment mixed with emotion. Urmila is a Kathak dancer. She is portraying a powerful character in this film. Rachael, who has come all the way from U.K., is also doing a good role. Esthban, who hails from France cannot speak English or Telugu. Still she is able to grasp the content with the help of her father and delivering emotions. Three prominent writers are doing this film. In general, we find writers as writers on-screen also. But Bhuvanachandra, Balapadrapatruni Ramani and Ananth Sriram played three different characters. I’m sure Darshan’s camera work will be widely appreciated.”

Producer Bharathi Krishna said, “Singeetham garu is a creative director. We are all making this film like one family. We never entered the movie industry with the intention of making a 100 days film at the time Indian Cinema is celebrating 100 years festival. The range of our film has automatically increased when a great director like Singeetham Srinivas Rao entered this project. We are happy to work with 81 years youngster everyday.”

Actress Urmila said, “I consider myself lucky for being part of ‘Welcome Obama’ film. I heard a lot about Singeetam garu. I thank Sandal Wood Media. The camera work in this film will receive special recognition. The film was beautifully picturised. This movie will reflect our culture.”

Senior actress Rohini said, “I’ve already worked under Singeetam Srinivas Rao garu’s direction. I’m very happy to write the script for his film. Only I can understand what I’m learning from him as long as I work with him. This movie has so many emotions. We are lucky to have this production team who is ready to provide us anything required even during mid-nights.”

Esthban informed that she portray the character Lord Sri Krishna.
