The RLSS is a member of the Belgium based International Life Saving Federationandhasa strategic relationship with Surf Life Saving Australia and Royal Life Saving Association Australia.
"After experiencing the recent floods in the city and the fact that basic safety is not part of the Indian psyche we thought it is very important to set up a comprehensive training center at Hyderabad in our continued effort to improve both off shore and on shore safety." Said Suheim Sheikh of the Yacht Club
"The RLSS has trained about 200,000 people in Trauma management, First aid, Lifesaving and Lifeguarding and we are extremely happy to open a center at the Yacht Club of Hyderabad to serve the entire state of Telangana. Let us make India drowning free" said Admiral Purushottam Sharma the founder of RLSS based out of Pune.
RLSS India has been spearheading a movement which involves operation and training of lifeguards in modern lifesaving techniques and educating the masses in methods to be safer on land and in and around water bodies. In pursuance of this cause, RLSS (I) is inaugurating The Yatch Club of Hyderabad as a Life Saving Training Centre at Hyderabad, Telangana.
A total of 35 young sailors from The Yacht Club of Hyderabadwere trained in Lifesaving skills on 22 & 23 Oct'16 as part of the launch. The next course is scheduled for November 5th 2016.
The RLSS has been engaging with schools, institutions, clubs, residential societies and corporate premises alike to promote safety consciousness and empower the masses in lifesaving skills leading there being safer at home, in transit and at work. In addition, the Society, through its "Swim N Survive®" programme empowers children with skills to survive an accidental fall in deep water. It is a swimming and water safety initiative based on 2 levels - Himmat and Josh, which comprises exercises and activities to gradually build a child's confidence and expertise in swimming.
The objective of collaboration between The Yacht Club of Hyderabad and RLSS (I) is to enhance safety around water bodies in the city and empower people with lifesaving skills to promote the cause of safety in all aspects of living. Educational institutions and Tourism organizations can benefit the most by introducing these training courses at all levels.
