Physical Literacy movement in its second week
Hyderabad, February 19, 2017…. Physical Literacy Days, a first of its kind new initiative in India, which kicked off last week held today at Gachibowli.
The initiative, the brain child of Pullela Gopichand and few likeminded organizations, aims to improve sports knowledge and physical literacy in India
The one kilometer stretch from IDBI Bank to Pullela Gopichand Academy Road in the financial district of Gachibowli is fun time and activity zone every Sunday morning from 6am to 9.30am
The initiative caught on well in its second week itself as more than 1000 people took part in various activities.
It is a people’s movement to lead an active life. Kick out sedentary lifestyle out of your life. Stay away from lifestyle ailments. Get into physical activities of your choice and live your life to the fullest.
“Physical Literacy Days”, a community development program under the “Physical Literacy movement” aims to bring change in the well being of a demographic comprises of people from all sections/all ages, by making them to adopt an active life style.
Variety of art, cultural, fun, fitness programs are introduced.
This is open to all communities. It doesn’t cater to any specific community. Every citizen is invited to make use of it. It aim is to see that every individual in the city must participate in Physical Literacy Day.
Activities at the Physical Literacy Days
Dance forms - Classical, Western/Folk , Street Sports – Gulli cricket, GilliDanda, 7 stones, Marbles, Spinning wheel etc , Martial Arts – Karate, Kung fu, Pro sports – Badminton, Boxing, street football , Yoga & Meditation, Zumba& Aerobics , Jogging, walking, cycling, Other Fun and Fitness Activities and social events on national important days.
