Physical Literacy Days completes one month, attracted well over 5000 people in the last one month
Hyderabad, March 5, 2017......Hyderabad is India’s women obesity capital. As per the National Health survey, 48% of women in Hyderabad are obese. To bring awareness about women’s health and wellness, this week “ Physical Literacy Days” dedicated for women.
India’s fastest Woman, Called 'Indian Usain Bolt”, Current National Champion Dutee Chand participated in the “ Physical Literacy Days’ to promote Physical Literacy for Woman. Dutee Chand, who got qualified for Olympics in the 100 meter category after 36 years from India, given a little break for running and played all the native games and other sports at the event.
I am very happy to see people waking up in the morning and coming out on the streets with children and families. This is such a culture change. I was so happy to play native games after so many years. I use to play in my village when I was really young. It is very important for us to get our young generation to be healthy and fit … said, Dutee.
We have successfully completed one month of Physical Literacy Days and our intention to run this program for next one year. One of the best things about this event is its inclusion. You see children, youth and adults are coming together, which is rare opportunity these days. We will make this as a no 1 weekend destination in the city for children… says Vishala Reddy, who introduced Raahgiri to the city and now spear heading Physical Literacy Days.
The Public Literacy Days Movement attracted little over 5000 people in the last one month.
The Special events held this Sunday include: Friendly run with community by Pinkathon team ; Zumba by Abhimanika Yadav ; Cycling by Kondapur Health Club ; Boxing by BcubeBoxing ; Kids games : Kids Arena ; Tyre flip Challenge: GRYCS ; Street Games: Pampered Kids ; Gulli Cricket by: Sports Podium; Badminton by : Hyderabad Hunters
Physical Literacy Days is an initiative of Pullela Gopichand Academy in association with IdentCITY, Blitz, Hyderabad Urban Makeover and Cyberabad Police with several like-minded partners and associates.
Physical Literacy Days happen every Sunday from 06.00 am to 09.00 am on the road from Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy to IDBI Bank road. FREE Access, No Registration required. All are invited to participate in this event irrespective of age, gender, and social status.
