17th TANA 2009 - Day 2

While the inaugural event on July 2nd started off with a dance ballet written and composed by Lyricist Sririvennela Seetarama Sastry, the 2nd day of 17th TANA conference saw Youth Talent Show which had the honour of having Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry as one of the three judges. He, after the event spared no words in praising the programme.

"Meet Your Favorite Movie Star" was a two-hour long event featuring Kamna Jethmalani, Navneet Kaur, Apoorva, Suneetha, and R.P. Patnaik, attended by hundreds of people interacting with the stars.

A comedy skit going around a mobile phone, titled "Baaboy, Cellphone!" directed by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, was performed by film artistes Murali Mohan, Jhansi, Raghubabu, Maharshi Raghava, AVS, Uttej, Rajitha and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna himself. Noted stage artiste Gummadi Gopalakrishna also joined the group and Guinness-record holder Mimicry Srinivas helped the group with audio effects such as the mobile phone ring and gunshots. It appeared like the audience thoroughly enjoyed the skit.

TANA-Maa TV Super Singers semifinals and finals went on till 2 AM in the midnight and the audience were glued to their seats with anxiety. Suma anchored a part of the event and the judges were Mano, Suddala Ashok Teja, Chandra Bose and Gorati Venkanna.

A much remarkable highlight of the evening came in the form of Gorati Venkanna who danced while singing 'Jai bolo jai bolo...' as Mano and Suddala Ashokteja encouraged him. Srikrishna's solo 'Mana maata rabhaasha telugu...', Pranavi's solo from 'Sree Ramadasu', and their duet 'Rubber gaajulu...' won much applause from the audience. Younger singers Sugandhi and Sumasri surprised the audience with their amazing modulation.

If success has to be measured for this event, the visitors numbering about 10,000 is itself an amazing number. But this is expected to the out numbered on the third day which will be the final day of the event.
