Hyderabad, 28 June, 2017: Citizens Specialty Hospital today announced the inauguration of a comprehensive Citizens Centre for Digestive Disorders) at its Nallagandla campus, near University of Hyderabad. The Honourable Minister for Irrigation, Marketing & Legislative Affairs of the State of Telangana, Shri T. Harish Rao Garu, in the presence of the Guest of Honour, the Member of Parliament, Shri Konda Vishweshwar Reddy Garu MLA Serilingampally Shri Arekapudi Gandhi Garu, and guest of honor Shri M Lakshmaiha Special Officer Buddhavanam project,formally inaugurated the Citizens Centre for Digestive Disorders.
Digestive Disorders
Digestive disorders refer to diseases involving the gastrointestinal tract, namely the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum, and the accessory organs of digestion, the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Common digestive problems include heartburn/GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
The most common symptoms related to digestive system in Indians are bloating of the stomach soon after meal and flatulence. Globus (a feeling of something stuck in the throat), chest pain, heartburn and diarrhoea are common among people of Hyderabad. Incidences of digestive disorders is on the rise in the city mainly due to changing lifestyles, obesity and population.
