Hyderabad, 7th February, 2018: India's foremost Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care, Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialties Centreopened its seventh clinic in Telangana today at AS Rao Nagar, Hyderabad. The Centre was inaugurated by Dr. NG Sastry, Director Senior Consultant, DMDSC.
India currently has the second highest number of people with diabetes in the world with 72.3 million people. Further the International Diabetes Federation states that by the year 2045, India will be 'Diabetes capital of the world' with 134.3 million people with diabetes. Telanganahas a very high prevalence of diabetes and in a study conducted a few years ago, Hyderabad had the highest prevalence of diabetes among the 6 metropolitan cities in India that were studied.
Inaugurating the diabetes centre, Dr.NG Sastry, Director& Senior Consultant, DMDSC, Hyderabad Cluster, said, Diabetes is a complex health condition where symptoms differ from person to person and so does the diagnosis. Keeping that in mind, we have launched Precision Diabetes which enables accurate classification of a patient and determines the type of diabetes any individual is suffering from. Based on these results, we prescribe customized care and medical treatment. The Precision Diabetes (Personalized) Department has been established across Dr. Mohan's Centres with the aim to promote the translation of basic science into patient treatments. We believe this approach will not only provide accurate and relevant treatment, but also have a huge impact on the cost of managing diabetes. With the launch of our seventh Centre in Telangana at AS Rao Nagar, we aim to serve the patients better."
