Sanskruti, a ladies organization had its 9th meeting on 6th February at The Park, Somajiguda. Keynote speaker was Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil.
Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla addressed the Meeting of Sanskruti in the Park Hotel, Hyderabad at 3.30 pm on a very sensitive subject which he is passionate about. He is a LGBT rights activist and the first member of a royal family to openly come out as gay to the world. He made aware to the members of Sanskruti about the issues of being gay in India, specially about the recent Supreme Court judgement which decriminalized homosexuality in India. Being the founder of Lakshya Trust in Gujarat which is the first organisation to work for HIV prevention and awareness amongst the homosexual and transgender population, he also shared the work done by Lakshya in helping to mainstream homosexuality in the Society. He also answered questions coming from the audience.
Nawab Nazaf Ali Khan, grandson of HEH Late Nizam VII of Hyderabad graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Meeting ended with high tea.
