Hyderabad motorsport club wins 9 positions at recently held 'India Bike Week (ibw), 2015' at Goa.
• Hyderabad motorsport club (hmc) is a voluntary association of members come together to support and promote motorsports.
• Hmc comprises of 25 like minded individuals, 12 riders and 8 pit-crew members and 5 management officials from various walks of life from hyderabad.
• Team hmc promotes safety of riders and general citizens. It also supports the 'mard' initiative.
The thrill for speed and the love for Bikes and cars got the like-minded together to form one of the best followed motorsport team of the country on social network. Hyderabad Motorsport Club popularly known as HMC evolved when a group of passion-sharing riders from Hyderabad thought of participating IN one of the most popular drag-race competition in India. “It was just a casual name which eventually rose out of my head when the organizer of the racing event mentioned about the laid back attitude of Hyderabad and why hyderabadis don’t represent themselves as a team”, exclaims Mr. Liaqat Ali Junaid a.k.a ‘Mr. J’ on track, the Founding Member and the head of the group.
Mr. Ali adds that riding has been his passion right from his teenage days when bike racing was almost considered to be a taboo and had a notion of being the bad boys game. He said, “At that time I just continued with my education and then business but the zeal and love for bikes always lived in me.” He recently happened to meet Mr. Javed who was a professional Bike rider but discontinued it due to family responsibilities. Javed who is a professional Biker is also known as Javed 350 in the twin-cities for his talent of tuning the Yamaha RD 350 the best. He was motivated by Mr. Ali to participate in the near-coming race in January 2015 and the group ventured out soon with 8 riders joining them for their first event out of which was one more respectable discovery of Mr. Jahangir who is nicknamed as ‘Hyderabadi Schumacher’ by his peers. HMC’s first performance was at “The Valley Run, 2015” at Aamby Valley, Lonavala, by Elite Octane. Former Rider and the Director of Elite Octane, Rongom T. Mukerji was glad to present the team with 5 true earned trophies and then there was no looking back.
