Apollo Life Savers Moment Launch

Hyderabad, 3rd, December, 2011: Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad launched the ‘Apollo Life Savers Movement’, today, to educate citizens on common and life threatening emergencies & first aid and build a pool of trained life savers who can aid in saving precious lives. The Apollo Life Savers Movement was formally launched by Mr. C. V. Anand, Additional Commissioner of Police – Traffic, Hyderabad, in the presence of Dr. K. Hari Prasad, CEO – Central, Apollo Hospitals.

Over 200 school and college students from Keyes High School, Wesley High School, St Francis High School, St Ann’s High School, St Mary’s High School, Wesley College, St Francis College, St Mary’s College, Tagore College etc., enthusiastically participated in the Life saver training organized on the occasion. These little Life savers are trained in providing basic first aid, resuscitation and activation of emergency response in case of a medical emergency. All those trained as Life Savers will be certified first aid & Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) providers and will serve as the first link in the chain of survival in medical emergencies.

According to Dr. Hari Prasad, in an emergency every minute counts and before professional medical help arrives someone trained in Life savers can be handy in providing the first aid and in expediting the arrival of medical aid. This is an initiative to help save precious lives. Every citizen should come forward to undergo Life savers training, he added.
