Pune head quartered ByondTech Electronics Pvt. Ltd. is in the business of affordable mobile handsets since 2009 and has already about 5 Million satisfied customers all over India. The company, which has its own manufacturing base in Shenzhen, China, has now entered into the business of producing tablet pc and smart phone.
Byond is led by Prashant Bora, CEO, who is an Engineer Entrepreneur with a sound background of manufacturing business including Chemical, Water purification and Electronics.
Byond is a part of the parent holding, Canpex Group, whose chairman is Subhash Mutha. He is a veteran entrepreneur with nearly forty years in diversified international businesses including Special Chemicals, Water and Wastewater Management and Electronics.
Byond has introduced the widest range of Tablet PC for the Indian market named as the “mibook” series. The tablet market in India is growing at a rapid pace with current annual demand of 3 million tablets. And sources predict doubling up of the demand in the coming year.
The mibook series will contain seven varieties of tablet PCs:
· 7 inch screen tablets
· Tablet with calling facility/SIM card option
· 10 inch wide screen tablets
· Laplet series with containing tablet with portable attached key pad [For the first time in India]

The company also announces the launch of it first smart phone “B50”. With the smart phone market claiming 25 million pieces per year and nearly 50% expected rise, Byond wants to be one of the major players in the affordable smart phone category. A range of android phones starting from 3.5” screen size to 5.0” screen size are slated to launch in the near future from the Byond stable.
The company is targeting sales of more than 500,000 tablets a year and a market share of close to 15% to emerge as a leading player in the market.
Byond has a joint-venture manufacturing facility at Shenzhen in China. All products are manufactured at Shenzhen and components’ sourcing is done from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, USA apart from China.
The factory has capacity to make 400,000mobile handsets and 100,000 tablets every month. Byond’s R & D center is engaged in design and development of various new products.
The total investment is to the tune of 5 million USDfor this facility.
For tablets and smart phones, company has invested around 10 million USD and the investment is likely to get doubled within a year.
