Suraksha: The Runway Against Rape - Fashion Show by JCI Hyderabad Deccan

With the increase in incidents of rape across the country, it has got us youngsters thinking what the society would look like in the future if this is not stopped! We believe that before we blame anybody for such behavior we must try and do our part. For the same, Junior Jaycee Wing of JCI Hyderabad Deccan is organizing a fashion show-"SURAKSHA: The Runway Against Rape". Conceptualized and directed by Mrs. Sashi Nahata, the fashion show also saw Many other socialites and entrepreneurs like Shobha Sudhakar, Harish and Esha Hindocha, Bina Mehta, Varsha, and many students from various schools and colleges; all came together to support the cause and walk the ramp to spread awareness and education.

The main reason for this event was that to develop the society, we need to first develop each individual and when that is done, the society will be developed! Thus, SURAKSHA- The runway against Rape; an event to showcase and portray the feelings of a woman, the hardships she undergoes, right from her childhood and how these incidents affect her.

The show also saw lovely trained dogs, walking the ramp carrying messages, pleading the world to start behaving like humans and stop this violence!

We are using this platform to spread the message to the world through the wonderful audience today and the press and media that women are not to be blamed, it is not they who are at fault. It is the men who have to change their mindset and actions.
The Hon'bl Chief Minister Sri Kiran Kumar Reddy Garu launched the posters for this event. He also appreciated the concept. For the girls to move around in a fearless we have come up with our project "SURAKSHA" . The funds Raised from this show will be used for visiting various schools and colleges, not only in the twin cities but also in villages around where it is most important. The girls there will be taught how to handle such situations both mentally and physically using self defense techniques.
