The Eashwari Bai Memorial Trust formed in 1992 a year the demise of Smt Eashwari Bai.

Late Mrs. J. Eashwari Bai was elected councilor in 1952 and later was M.L.A twice from Yellareddy, constituency in Nizambad District.
She later rose to become the All India President of Republican Party Khobragode Group, until her demise she was a fire brand politician who continuously strove for the weaker sections and downtrodden sections of society. She was also a well-known social worker, interested in emancipation of women.
Therefore the Trust aims at fulfilling her dreams and following the path of the great soul.
Aims and objectives

1. Vocational Training for women.
2. Medical facilities for the poor.
3. Educational facilities for women.
4. Upliftment of weaker sections.

Activities taken up by Trust so far:
1. Instituted a Gold Medal in her name in the Osmania University for the best women candidate in Political Sciences.
2. Running a Nursing School in the Memory of Smt. J. Eashwari Bain since 1996.
3. Gold Medal for Best women student in Social Sciences “Andhra Mahila Sabha” Women’s college.
4. Best sports team trophy in St. Joseph School in Pragnapur, Gajwel.
5. Best Sports Women Trophy among women Journalists in Vijayawada Journalist Association
6. Eashwari Bai Memorial Trophy in Women’s Cricket Sub-Junior team.
7. We are proud to announce, the running of a Memorial Hospital in Chilkalguda for the poor since 1996.
8. We have started a B.Sc Nursing college in the Memory of Smt. J. Eashwari Bai since 2001, started M.Sc (N) programme in 2008 and Post Basic Nursing in 2010.
9. Helping poor students to complete their Medical studies.
10. Many community health camps run on charitable basis in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy District interior villages.

Since 1998 we have instituted an Award to eminent people who have contributed towards upliftment of Society.
We are striving hard every day to live up to the expectations she had - we continue.

LATE SMT. J. EASHWARI BAI SOCIAL WORKER AND REPUBLICAN PARTY LEADER
Born in a Scheduled family on 1st December 1918 at Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Studied up to Matric, married Dr. J. Laxmi Narayana who had established practice at Pune (Maharashtra) as a Dentist. She started her career as a teacher in Paropakarini School in Secunderabad. She started in a humble way, a School named 'Geetha Vidyalaya’ in Chilkalguda (in Secunderabad) She started workshops for the poor women of the locality, who learned crafting, Tailoring, Painting etc., thus the workshop helped economically poor women to secure to support themselves and their families. The respect and the following she commanded over the people of the locality enabled her to get elected for the Municipal Corporation of Secunderabad (in 1950's)

She founded an organization called "Civic Rights Committee (CRC)" in 1960's to fight the Hyderabad Municipal Elections as a non - political party basis. Within a few months this committee fought the Municipal Elections on its own and won four seats including the prestigious seat of Marredpally in the Secunderabad Division. She withstood all the temptations like a rock and continued her loyalty to the Republican Party of India. The party founded by the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Since starting her political career Smt. Eashwari Bai always remained a true Ambedkarite and a Republican to the core. She was appointed as an Honorary Magistrate for a period of two years (in 1960’s) in the Secunderabad Court Division. She won appreciation of all learned Lawyers for her grasp of the subject and dealing the cases judiciously and effectively. She was an active member of the Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW), Hyderabad Chapter.

She served the people in various activities, including as a Municipal Corporator for seven years and as a member of the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly for a period of eleven years. She held various positions in the Republican Party of India and rose to become the All India President of the Republican Party. Smt. Eashwari Bai as a Chairperson of the women and Child Welfare Corporation, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh worked out various welfare schemes and implemented them. Her strong idea resulted in making education free for girl students up to the Intermediate Level. She was the Vice Chairman of the original Telangana Praja Samithi (TPS). She returned victorious to the A.P. State Assembly as a Candidate of the RPI - TPS in the 1972 General Elections from the Yellareddy Assembly Constituency in the Nizamabad District. During the Separate Telangana movement Smt. Eashwari Bai was arrested and put in the Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad.

Smt. Eashwari Bai breathed her last on 24th February 1991 leaving us memories and good works to remember her for posterity. May her soul guide us always. The torch is being carried forward by her illustrious daughter Dr. Geeta, present Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce and Export Promotion.
