COWE 2013 Women's Day Celebrations, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 8: Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), a not-for-profit business organization of women entrepreneurs which works for the empowerment of women celebrated International Women's Day. On the occasion on Women's Day, it presented COWE Awards to eminent women personalities and women entrepreneurs. A Buyers and Sellers Meet in association with National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) was also organized here at Hotel Green Park, Hyderabad today.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Smt. V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy. Minister-for Women Development & Child Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh graced the occasion. They honoured women achievers in different business categories. Eminent women personalities who have contributed for women entrepreneurship and developing women leaders were honoured. These honours are being bestowed in fields of textiles, engineering, agriculture & IT etc. informed Mrs. P. Soudhamini, President of COWE.

Ch. Sailaja Kiran. Managing Director, Margadarsi Chit Fund Pvt. Ltd. and Renu Challa, Managing Director (Retd.) were presented the Business Excellence Award.

Past President of COVVE A. Shylaja Reddy, Suman Kumar, Uma Ghurka and K. Sandhya Reddy were given away the Visionary and Institution Builder Awards.

Best Entrepreneur Awards were given away twelve entrepreneurs in different fields viz. Ms. Geetha V Nair. Managing Director, Getech Equipments Intl Pvt Ltd (Engineering category); Ms. Namita Banka, Founder & CEO, Banka Bioloo Pvt. Ltd. (Bio-Technology category); Ms. Goli Shyamala, Director, GS Digital Dream Designer Pvt. Ltd. (IT & ITeS); Ms. P. Kiranmayi, Producer & Director, Timeline Digital Solutions (Media & Communications); Ms. Renu Rao, Proprietor, Deckle Edge (Handicrafts); Ms. Dipali Mehta, Proprietor, DM Crafts (Textiles); Ms. A. Vijaya Sarada Reddy, Director, Holy Mary Group of Institutions (Education); Ms. G. Latha Kalyani, Managing Director, Ancient Living, Srinivasa Industrial & Agro Products (P) Ltd. (Herbal); Ms. Y.S.R. Rajeshwari, Proprietor, Sidhi Creations (Apparels); Dr. P. Sudha Reddy, Managing Director, K.N. Bio Sciences (India) Pvt Ltd (Agriculture); Ms. Gopi Lavanya, Proprietor, Perfect Herbal Products (Beauty Products); Ms. Sashi Nahata, Proprietor, Akritti Elite (Services category).

Mr. M. Bhagavantha Rao, Managing Director of State Bank of Hyderabad presented Loan Certificates to COVVE members. Around 40 COWE members had applied for loans of which applications of around 20 members are cleared and others are in process.

COWE in association with NSIC invited BDL and BEL to meet the women entrepreneurs for B2B discussions. Around 30 stalls were organized during the day as exhibition. We have more than 550 women entrepreneurs as members. We function with democratic principles. COWE is well recognized by our Central and State Govts and other National and International organizations. COVVE President is on the National body of MSME and COWE has an MOU with NSIC informed Mrs. Soudhamini.

COWE endorsing the efforts of the central government in creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs through Preferential Procurement Policy, have inducted micro, small, medium and large organization run and managed by women as its members. With the support of the MSME and NSIC COWE has conducted a B2B meeting in 2011 during annual trade carnival and in 2012 with MSME organized B2B event at NSIC Campus. To reach global markets, COWE has fostered relations with international bodies like WEConnect, WBENC, International Trade Organization, ZDH and United Nations to name a few.
