Essence of Life - A Revolutionary Dance & Music Show brings to Hyderabad a live performance on May 11th, at Ravindra Bharati. It is a unique show inspired by the profound teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, the world renowned thinker. J. Krishnamurti is regarded globally as one of the greatest thinkers and religious teachers of all time, Essence of Life is a platform to showcase the teachings of J. Krishnamurti through dance and music.
The show is the first of its kind where the insights and the unique approach of J. Krishnamurti are brought to life on stage for a contemporary and sophisticated global audience. Each of the pieces in this presentation is musical.
Essence of Life will see performances by prominent artists from established dance traditions. Internationally renowned dancers Masako Ono (Odissi), Prateeksha Kashi (Kuchupudi), Smitha Madhav (Bharatnatyam), Shrita Bhaskar (Kathak) and Rashmi Menon (Mohiniattam) create an enchanting effect on the stage. Singers Padmasri Hariharan, Sanjeev Abhyankar and Sharath have lent their voice to these compositions.
J. Krishnamurti has written and spoken extensively about the various problems of our life like fear, suffering, violence and death. Hence, Krishnamurti's teachings are very relevant to our daily life. The traditional dance forms generally deal with tales from the ancient epics, stories of gods, saints, mighty kings and warriors. In these recitals, (Sahitya) the lyrics of the musical compositions also speak of episodes from the epics and mythologies which are based on scriptures and ancient classical texts.
On this occasion the founder of Dega Arts and Essence of Life, Mr. Dega Dev Kumar Reddy said, It gives me immense pleasure to bring to a global contemporary audience the understanding of the teachings of J. Krishnamurti. Essence Of life will look into the working of the mind and problems faced by man in daily life through dance ond music. The show will be presented in three parts: The Art of Meditation, Essence of Life and the Finale —Thillana, where all dancers will be performing together. A 13 minute short film on the intent of this project will be screened before the Finale Essence of life is sure to bring you a unique and an unforgettable experience that you haven't witnessed before.
