'Green Month 2013' Celebrations at Ascendas IT Parks

Ascendas organizes `Go Green' Month at The V, CyberPearl and aVance Business Hub Month long celebrations with environment-friendly campaigns

Hyderabad, 17th May, 2013: Ascendas, Asia's premier business space provider, launched its 6th annual 'Green Month' campaign this month, across its three IT Parks in Hyderabad, namely, The V, CyberPearl and aVance Business Hub. The month long celebrations across the parks is a part of creating awareness about the environment. The campaign has adopted United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) World Environment Day 2013 theme of 'Think. Eat. Save'. This is an anti-food waste theme to spread awareness about environmental impact of food choices we make and thereby reduce our 'food-print'.

This campaign targets to create awareness and encourage participation from the 18,000 IT professionals working at all the three IT parks. The campaign also involves participation of local NGOs and social entrepreneurs, like Jive Organics. Deccan Organics, Gren Ford Tech and Safa Society for sale of organic goods at the Eco-Bazaar event. In addition, there will be free vehicle emission tests, recycling campaigns, eco-competitions and organic food counters organized for the IT professionals by `Aahaar Kuteer'.

On 75 June 2013 Ascendas would mobilize the IT professionals to participate in a 4 km 'Green Walk Marathon' to commemorate the World Environment Day.

Ascendas frequently involves its IT clients in such activities to reiterate 'work-live-play' environment in its three IT Parks, spread over 2.6 million sq. ft., offering premium office space in Hyderabad. Ascendas Green Month generates both awareness and participation amongst the employees in the three IT Parks.

Flash mob Extract: IT professionals at The V IT Park performed a flash mob in the premises to spread awareness about the ongoing Green Month at Ascendas IT Parks. The flash mob carried a theme about environment protection involving the socially conscious youth.
