Profile
It was a noon day conversation between Ms. Kumud Dharia and Ms. Renu Jivan that ended in a determined thought. A thought, which could not have been embodied without Ms. Lata Bhatia and Ms. Saroj Rohit. The embodiment that could have been enhanced without Ms. Leelarn Kapadia, Ms. Veen Desai and Ms. Kokila Kadakia.
Consequently, the founder committee of Sanskruti was formed on 1st September, 1987.
The intentions behind the formation of Sanskruti were to encourage fellowship among like-minded women, to promote Indian Art and Culture and also provide help to students by way of scholarships in any faculty or branch of knowledge and Fine Arts.
Sanskruti's success over the years may be attributed to the unaccountable efforts of worthy past Presidents. They augmented the progress of Sanskruti year after year. As a result Sanskruti as a ladies organization is as an epitome of success today.
We have, more recently, started a school for the differently abled children Sanskruti Shikbar Sanchalit Amrit — Varsha Kapadia School — at Begumpet Secunderabad. This project is aimed at helping these children Beconn more self reliant in their day to day activities and also reach out to the parents to help them cope with their child's disabilities. The school now functions efficiently with 72 students on its roll.
Students are trained in music, dance, sport and fine arts. Besides, special education, personality development, behaviour pattern and vocational training form an integral part of education, with the help of a team of specialized trained teachers and member volunteers.
