The 'Waterscapes' exhibition-cum-sale showcases spectacular photography largely of wildlife in water from artists across India and of course the paintings on the theme of 'Water'.
'Waterscapes' is the brainchild of Suheim Sheikh who has been sailing and racing boats for the last 35 years and has watched our lakes and rivers progressively turn to filth.
The exhibition addresses the concern of water dystrophy by evoking a sense of beauty and appreciation of water and contrasting it with the rabid ugliness of what mankind has done to its water situation. Proceeds from the exhibition are earmarked for the training and facilitation of young underprivileged children to learn sailing and take to water sports. Dignity Through Sports is the credo, informed Mr. Suheim.
"I teach economically challenged kids to sail boats and have graduated 9 of them to the national level of the sport and they all sail at the polluted Hussain Sager, Hyderabad. This proximity to polluted water has deeply motivated me to take up the cause ", Mr. Suheim said.
Supported by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) members firms in India (Deloitte India), Waterscapes brings to life the surreal beauty of water in its myriad avatars like lakes, ponds, waterfalls and the wide open sea with a lot of work included from award winning photographers who work for the temples of imagery like the BBC and National Geographic.

I he hotel, being located on the shores of the lovely Hussain Sager lake, which is now polluted, we deeply Ideiitily with the cause and support the efforts to 'Save the Lake'. The exhibition this year is grander than ever before, and suited to the tastes of both the connoisseur as well as the uninitiated", informs Shared Datta, General Kinager.
