T Subbarami Reddy Lalitha Kala Parishat unit has established TSR-TV9 National Film Awards in 2010 with the aim to showcase the glory of Telugu culture and tradition by providing a platform for artistes. This year i.e. for 2013-14, these celebrations were held at a glittering function in Hyderabad on July 19, in the presence of a host of Telugu film industry personalities and other VIPs. The event was a grand affair. Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Mohan Babu, Ram Charan, Srinu Vaitla, Shriya, Shilpa Shetty, Gopichand, Shakti Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapuri, Rishi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Gulshan Grover, Raveena Tandon, Ramesh Sippy, Regina, Taapsee, Manchu Lakshmi, Boyapati Srinu, Tamanna, Jeevitha, Jamuna, Adnan Sami, Paruchuri Brothers, Jayasudha, Jayaprada, Sobhana Kamineni, Pinky Reddy, Prabhu, Ramesh Prasad, Rakul Preeth Singh and Mukesh Rushi and some others were present at the function. Apart from the presence of celebrities, there were some fine performances by stars, even as the best of films compete with one another for the top honours.
Speaking on the occasion, T Subbarami Reddy said, “T Subbarami Reddy Lalitha Kala Parishat was established to encourage Telugu arts and artists and with the support of TV9 we have started National Film Awards. The Awards have been instituted to recognise the best works in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Panjabi and Kannada film industries.”
Addressing the gathering, Mega Star Chiranjeevi said, “It’s not a simple thing to present Awards to best artists from seven language in India on a single stage. It needs diligence and persistence. Subbarami Reddy has proved himself. Awards will give encouragement and boosts the energy of artists. Now, our Telugu cinema stood in international level. ‘Baahubali’ is the best example for that. He has made the film in par with Hollywood standards. They just needs encouragement. Jury Awards formality was started with Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu. I appreciate T Subbarami Reddy garu for instituting such a massive programme.”
Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “I’m very happy that I’ve received Award for the film ‘Legend’. I’m thankful to Boyapati Srinu, producers Sai Korrapati, Anil, Gopi and Ram and all artists and technicians who worked for the film.”
Victory Venkatesh expressed, “I’m very happy to be part of such a different film like ‘Drushyam’ in my career. My heartfelt thanks to Sripriya and Meena and all the team members who worked with me.”
Speaking at the function, Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “’Manam’ is a special movie for my entire family. This is the last film for my father in his 75 year long career. It received tremendous response from the audience and now I’m very happy that it also received TSR-TV9 Award.”
Manchu Mohan Babu said, “I’m very happy that I’ve received the Award for the film ‘Rowdy’. The entire credit goes to Ram Gopal Varma garu.”
Rishi Kapoor said, “I too watched ‘Baahubali’ in Mumbai. I was very impressed. No matter what language it is. That’s the movie. I’m very happy that Telugu cinema has got the place in international level. I’ve good relationship with Subbarami Reddy. I’m very happy to receive this Award.”
Ramesh Sippy shared, “I would like to thank Subbarami Reddy Telugu audience for presenting me this Award and.”
