A year since Nirbhaya almost a year since Gudiya and many others, even a death sentence doesn't seem to discourage. A woman is raped /murdered every 9 minutes worldwide, children too not just raped but Mutilated and maimed physically and mentally. It is estimated that 80% of women who are sexually assaulted do not report it due to humiliation or fear of re-victimization in the legal system.

Internationally, the incidence of rapes recorded by the police during 2008 varied between 0.1 in Egypt per 100,000 people and 91.6 per 100,000 people in Lesotho with 4.9 per 100,000 people in Lithuania as the median

Rape is reported in the safest of the countries also! Rape and Murder are at the pinnacle of violence against women, but it starts at a root level of misbehavior, commenting, eve-teasing, stalking, cyber-stalking and so on.

Hyderabad Talks-A Hyderabad Based Social Media Platform has join hands with Organizations like Krav Maga Global, Dhrithi Enabling Psychological Wellness, Sankalp to conduct-A first of its kind workshop to empower the society of today against the rising crime of Rape.

Dr. Purnima Nagaraja, Dhrithi Enabling Psychological Wellness-Dr Purnima Nagaraja, consultant psychiatrist, psychotherapist, trainer, life coach and women's rights activist brings to the workshop 20 years of her experience in women and child empowerment, trauma counseling, crisis intervention, and supportive psychotherapy.With a diplomate in psychiatry, a master's degree in counseling and psychotherapy, Dr Purnima has trained in England and brings with her an international perspective on the subject. She has conducted several awareness drives and workshops on women empowerment, abuse support and rights.

A popular media figure, she has spoken extensively on the subject on TV, Radio, print and electronic media. She is currently a member and policy maker with the abuse survivors group and works with several Government and Non-Government organizations on gender sensitivity and abuse awareness and its prevention.
