13th GR8! Women Awards 2014, Hyderabad

The 13th GR8! Women Awards 2014 were held in Hyderabad at the Park Hyatt Hotel on Sunday, March 23. The Gr8! Women Awards have been successfully presented in Mumbai for the past 12 years by Anu and Shashi Ranjan, as a charitable initiative for ‘BETI' (Anu Ranjan’s initiative for the girl child).

This year, it was decided that the event will be held in different parts of the country every year. This time, the organizers zeroed in on South India and for that Hyderabad (A.P) was chosen as the venue. Next year, it will be in another zone of India and this way, the awards ceremony will have the whole country in its spectrum of venues.

The Hyderabad event was supported by Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy (MP). This year 11 women achievers were felicitated in a glittering ceremony, that included a fashion show featuring Designer Barkha Shewakramani from Dubai, leading Indian television stars with film actors and celebrities from Hyderabad. The awards were interspersed with performances by singer Priyanka from Sydney.

The categories under which the Women Achievers of Hyderabad have been selected this year include Art, Cinema, Science 6t Technology, Education, Social Service, Banking, the Culinary Arts, etc.
