Tea Trails forays in South India with Hyderabad cafe launch

HYDERABAD, 28th January, 2016: Tea Trails, the country's fast growing tea cafe operator, today launched its latest outlet at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad making the brand's foray in the South India.

Zone8 Tea World Pvt Ltd that runs Tea Trails brand cafes in the country is expanding fast and Banjara Hills, Hyderabad is its first outlet in South India. This is the first cafe of the brand outside Mumbai.

Tea Trails offers a gourmet tea drinking experience to the discerning consumer and brings to India the fast emerging international trend with a desi twist. It offers carefully curated range of the finest teas from Indian and around the world.

"We are looking to expand our network aggressively in the coming period. India is the second largest tea consuming market in the world but organized tea cafe market is practically non-existent. Tea Trails aspires to cater to this latent demand and be the category creator," said Mr Sanjeev Potti, Chief Executive Officer, Tea Trails.

The company has appointed Prabhakar Rao as Master Franchisee for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mr Rao will look after the brand's expansion efforts in the region.

"There is a huge potential for organized tea cafes in India and I am confident Tea Trails will be able to tap this vast market with deep understanding of market," said Mr Rao.

Promoted by a group of entrepreneurs with successful track records, in November 2013, Tea Trails has embarked on an interesting journey of changing the rules of the game in the cafe space.

The brand has now embarked on a pan India expansion strategy that is a combination of company owned and franchised outlets. Currently there are 8 successful Tea Trails outlets in Mumbai out of which 6 are company run and rest 2 are by franchisees.

"Large part of our expansion strategy is based on franchise network development. This .model is asset light with high ROI," says Mr Uday Mathur, co-founder, Tea Trails.

Tea Trails also proposes to merchandise select blends of teas that would be available at premium retail stores and niche online portals, apart from the Tea Trails outlets.
