Chitravali - An Exhibition On Kerala Murals, Hyderabad

Sreejitli Vellora an artist from Kerala is giving his live demonstration of paintings of Kerala Murals at 'Chitravali' an exquisite exhibition of Mural Paintings from Kerala, being displayed at the Chitramayee State Art Gallery in Madhapur, Hyderabad from 8th — 10th October, 2014 organised by KalaDhwani, Delhi, JBR Architecture College, Hyderabad in association with State Gallery of Fine Arts, Hyd.
Sreejith Vellora an artist from Kerala in traditional Kerala Mural Painting, who took 5 years national diploma in mural painting and completed Diploma in Conservation & Restoration of Mural Paintings. He is an expert and has thorough knowledge in Mural Paintings of 17th — 19th centuries paintings. Presently he is camped at Hyderabad.

Chitravali will showcase the most astounding paintings of the seventeenth to the nineteenth century that have adorned the walls of the sanctum sanctorum of many of Kerala's temples and shrines. Apart from the exhibition, a key highlight would be the presentations on the an of the painting tradition by live artist.

The exhibition shall display some of the rare and important murals from the 17,h-18th century and earlier when mural tradition flourished and attained the highest splendour. Recreating the incredible paintings amidst the culturally rich atmosphere of Telangana shall be a mile-stone in the art and traditional history of both Telangana and Kerala.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 8 October 2014 at 11.00 am by Padmasree Shri.Jagdish Mittal. The event will also be blessed with the presence of Shri.Narender Rai Srivastav, Artist & Poet, Shri.Vedakumar.M, Heritage Activist, Shri.D. Bhaskar Rao, Curator, Nizams Museum, Smt.Gayatri Joginpalli, Architect & Consultant.

The exhibition is organised by KalaDhvani & JBR Architecture College, Hyderabad in association with State Gallery of Fine Arts, Hyd, Telangana.Kala Dhwani is an organization based in Delhi, which works in the areas of art and heritage conservation, museum development, and the promotion of the heritage and culture of India through its activities.
