Anant Nagarkatte, a legendary actor of Kannada Cinema, was born on September 4th, 1948 in Mumbai, Maharashtra state, India, He is notable with the screen name Anant Nag.
His performance is not only praised in Kannada Movies but also in Marathi, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil movies.

Anant Nag's parents are Sadanand Nagarkatte and Anandi Nagarkatte. Anant Nagarkatte is a part of the Konkan family and has grown up together with his elder sister Shyamala and younger brother Shankar.
He finished his schooling from Ananda Ashrama & Chitrapur Math, located in the district of Uttara Kannada.
He had gone to Mumbai for his higher studies. He was attracted towards theatres, acting, and began acting in regional languages during that time. He got married to Gayatri, the actress, and they have a lovely daughter called Aditi.
Career:
He had found and earned two film offers after doing some plays, his debut Kannada movie Sankalpa and Hindi Movie Ankur in 1973. But he grew to prominence with the 1975 release of Kannada Film Hamsage.
