On August 7th, 2011, Nayantara converted Hinduism at the Arya Samaj Temple in Chennai. But her conversion to Hinduism ahead of her marriage to Prabhu Deva came as a shock to the Christian organization.
Speaking on behalf of Christian organization its office bearer Inian John said that Nayantara’s actions in the recent past have been totally against the principles of Christianity. The Bible clearly forbids a Christian from yearning something that belongs to someone else. According to him Nayan have to incur the pain for the grief that she has brought upon Ramlath. Inian also claimed that Nayan had been forced to convert to Hinduism by Prabhu Deva and that such compulsion was almost a criminal offence.
Nevertheless Nayantara declared that her decision to convert to Hinduism is purely personal. The actress is going to wind up her shooting part of ‘Sree Ramarajyam’ shortly which is going to be her last film.
