Veteran character artist Pavala Syamala, who is known for her versatile roles in films like 'Khadgam', has been struggling to find the next meal. She is in a state of poverty owing to no source of income.
It's reported that Syamala's daughter contracted TB two years ago. Due to her health condition, she hasn't been able to work and make a living. Months ago, she broke her leg and has since been bed-ridden ever since. Syamala has had to spend savings and whatever little amount she gets from donors on her daughter's medicines.
"The medical expenses are to the tune of Rs 10,000 per month. Due to the current pandemic, people are not readily helping us or coming to us. We are not able to buy even groceries," Syamala said.
In the past, Chiranjeevi helped her family out by donating Rs 2 lakh. Pawan Kalyan, too, has helped her with Rs 1 lakh in the past. The other day, Karate Kalyani gave Rs 10,000 to Syamala.
Donors have been urged to reach out to Syamala, who lives with her daughter at Hyderabad's SR Nagar.
