'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' has failed to secure an official Oscar entry from India. India has nominated an arthouse film instead. The film is 'Chhello Show' (Gujarati), released in 2021.
The fans of 'RRR' are disappointed. What is a mighty disappointment is that India may have kicked out the opportunity of a lifetime. The Rajamouli directorial enjoys huge popularity among the elite of the Hollywood establishment. Jr NTR and Ram Charan too have impressed with their performance.
It has to be seen if 'RRR' will be nominated in the Best Picture category by the West, in which case it not being there in the Foreign Film category won't make any difference. 'The Kashmir Files', too, has been given a miss.
As for 'Chhello Show', the film is about a young boy from a Saurashtra village in Gujarat entering a cinema hall projection booth by bribing a cinema projector technician. He watches films throughout the summer and becomes a fan of cinema for the rest of his life.
