Team 'RRR' and the hearts of the fans of the Rajamouli-MM Keeravani duo must swell with pride today. 'Naatu Naatu' has received an Oscar nomination.
Rightfully, the makers of the 2022 release said that they have created history. "Proud and privileged to share that 'Naatu Naatu' has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards," the official page of the period action drama stated on Tuesday.
'RRR', unfortunately, lost a Best Picture nomination. Netizens and film observers are lamenting that not sending 'RRR' as an official entry to the Oscars is an unpardonable blunder. The Film Federation of India didn't get what James Cameron and Steven Spielberg got. As a result, we have lost a historic opportunity.
Nevertheless, a song featuring two top Telugu heroes, namely, Tarak and Ram Charan, has set the bar high by bagging an Oscar nomination and it's reason enough to feel proud of MM Keeravani, Chandrabose, the actors, Rajamouli, and everyone else associated with the song.
India received two other nominations: 'All That Breathes' has been nominated in the Best Documentary Feature Film category, while 'The Elephant Whisperers' has been nominated in the Best Documentary Short Film category.
