It is now official that 'Adipurush' is on its way to becoming a flop. The epic movie managed to secure wow figures on the first weekend in both Telugu and Hindi. However, on Monday, it turned out to be a damp squib.
As per trade reports, the film failed to hold on to the momentum in Telugu. Hyderabad, with many 3D screens, is the only market where the Om Raut directorial did well on Monday, which was the film's Day Four at the box office.
Considering that the film's budget is huge and it was sold for a massive amount to distributors, breakeven is apparently going to be a Herculean task in the Telugu States.
In other words, Prabhas has delivered his third flop in a row. 'Saaho' and 'Radhe Shyam', too, failed to fetch profits for distributors in Telugu.
The situation in Hindi is abysmal for 'Adipurush'. As per a trade report, the fall was to the tune of 75% on Monday. The movie had to make do with about Rs 8.50 Cr only on the first Monday after collecting Rs 34 Cr nett. on Sunday. 'Adipurush' netted Rs 110 Cr in four days in Hindi. Assessing the situation closely, a prominent trade analyst described it as a collapse.
