Hombale Films has reportedly conveyed to the distributors of 'Salaar' that the film will be released in theatres on December 22 this year.
As per Mumbai-based media reports, the film's Hindi distributor today sent out an email stating the new date to all exhibitors. The exhibitors have been asked to prepare for the date.
The development took place amid reports that some portions have been re-shot by director Prashanth Neel. Also, he is allegedly unsatisfied with hundreds of VFX shots.
The film, led by Prabhas, will compete with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' if the new date holds and SRK's movie is not postponed.
The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role. AnbAriv, who worked with Neel on the 'KGF' films, are its action directors. 'Salaar' has got music by Ravi Basrur.
