Leading Telugu producer S Naga Vamsi and Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor had an argument during a year-end roundtable discussion. The Sithara Entertainments supremo stated that Hindi cinema has lost its mojo because Bollywood filmmakers are catering to a niche segment of audiences. He implied that Hindi films these days impress only the residents of Bandra and Juhu in Mumbai.
"It might sound really harsh. We, South Indians, have changed the way Bollywood looks at cinema. Bollywood is stuck in making films for Bandra and Juhu. You witnessed a change with Baahubali, RRR, Animal and Jawan," Naga Vamsi told Boney.
The video clip has gone viral on social media, with the Telugu audience praising Naga Vamsi for delivering a truth bomb right in the presence of a senior Hindi film producer.
Naga Vamsi had a successful 2024. He distributed Jr NTR's Devara and made profits. He also produced the super-successful Tillu Square and Lucky Baskhar.
