Paparazzi, as per Google, is a freelance photographer who aggressively pursues celebrities for the purpose of taking candid photographs. The definition has been turned on its head in Bollywood, with celebs themselves pursuing the photographers for publicity.
Contrary to popular belief, the notion that photographers who surround film celebrities infringe upon their privacy is misguided. In reality, these stars often engage PR agents who coordinate the presence of photographers. In Bollywood, for instance, when a celebrity plans to visit a gym, she typically contacts her PR representative to arrange for photographers to be stationed outside the gym premises.
