On Friday, the duo attended a programme organised by Bharat Chaitanya Yuvajana Party. The event was meant to felicitate female teachers who have rendered selfless service over decades.
Speaking on the occasion, Brahmanandam touched upon the contributions of Savitribai, who is revered in Maharashtra. The British India-era social reformer is highly respected by backward communities across India. Brahmi lost his cool when he found some individuals in the audience chit-chatting while he spoke about a serious social issue. He also asked photographers to prioritize their clicking job for another occasion.
Renu Desai spoke about Savitribai’s legendary status as the first female teacher in India. The Badri and Johnny actress, who hails from Maharashtra, said that Savitribai opened a school for girls with her husband, Jyotirao Phule, becoming a pioneer in the field of girl education.
