Dance choreographer Jani Master was jailed last year under sections of the POCSO Act after his former assistant, Shrasti Varma, filed a complaint against him. For the first time, she has given an interview.
Speaking to a YouTube channel, Shrasti said that she has ignored the barrage of ugly social media comments against her following her complaint. "If you take online trolls seriously, you would want to die by suicide in no time. I shut out all the comments from my mind," she said.
Shrasti added that she didn't want to hide her face by wearing a face mask while giving the interview because she wants society to see her as a fighter, not a victim. Shrasti thanked the Narsingi police for accepting her complaint without asking any questions. "They didn't discriminate or discourage me," she said.
Jani Master has been out on bail. He has also started working on movies.
