Music legend and Rajya Sabha MP Ilaiyaraaja was in New Delhi to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM, sharing pics from the meeting, described him as a "musical titan whose genius has a monumental impact on our music and culture".
The PM further wrote, "He is a trailblazer in every sense and he made history yet again by presenting his first-ever Western classical symphony, Valiant, in London a few days ago. This performance was accompanied by the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra." What is a symphony? "It is a large-scale musical composition for orchestra, typically consisting of four movements. It's a cornerstone of classical music, showcasing the full range of orchestral instruments and their expressive capabilities."
Modi added that the "momentous feat marks yet another chapter in his unparalleled musical journey—one that continues to redefine excellence on a global scale".
Vetri Maaran’s 'Viduthalai Part 2', Vishal’s 'Thupparivaalan 2', and Alphonse Puthren’s 'Gift' are among Ilaiyaraaja's recent/ongoing projects.
