Literature has always interested me. It's because of my reading habit that I got into script-writing. After I entered TFI, I tried my luck as a ghost-writer. I also worked under 'Bhaagamathie' director Ashok G and a few others. I was associated with 'Saptagiri Express' maker Arun Pawar as well.

'Kali' took shape once producer Leela Gowtham Varma loved the story. There were some teething troubles when the project took off. Our attempts to rope in Jagapathi Babu didn't work out. The script was written during the 2020 lockdown. The pre-production and casting processes took about 18 months. Working with young technicians fastened the pace.

The story of 'Kali' takes place inside a palatial bungalow. A set at Ramoji Film City was used for the production. Writer K Raghavendra Reddy was of immense help in the writing process. Our film aims to highlight that suicide is not the answer to life's challenges. A staggering percentage of people have considered suicide at some point, according to a research.

Actor Prince portrays Shivaram, a kind-hearted individual who faces certain harsh realities of life due to his generosity. His community's indifference pushes him to the brink of despair. Just when he is at his lowest, a stranger, played by Naresh Agastya, enters his life.

People have wondered if the story taking place between just two characters wouldn't bore the audience. The screenplay is gripping. Both the actors are outstanding.

'Kali' boasts stunning visual effects. The grandeur of Kali's abode is showcased through VFX. This is a U-rated movie. The character of Kali Purush from our Puranas served as a source of inspiration for the film.
