Kedi Title Anouncement

No! It is neither ‘Rummy’ nor ‘Mosagadu’, it is "Kedi", declares Nagarjuna, the title for his latest flick. We all know that he is currently working for a project under D Siva Prasad Reddy’s production. This new venture is being crafted by a new comer Kiran. Mamta Mohandas is playing Nag’s lady love.

A press meet was arranged by the producer to announce the title as well as the details of the film’s progress, Nagarjuna, Siva Prasad Reddy, Kiran and Ankur (Slumdog Millionaire fame) spoke to the media.

Nagarjuna while speaking, “The title ‘Kedi’ has been selected because it aptly suits my role. Although we thought of titles ‘Rummy’ and ‘Mosagadu’ earlier, the news in the websites say that the titles have been registered by other producers. Hence this time we decided to announce the title before it gets leaked. Regarding the release of my films in December, I’ve no such sentiments. I used to prefer to release them in December end only because the festival holidays would give good box-office collections. But now as there are too many releases in December we decided to release it in January. Another reason for releasing this film in January is Kamakshi Kala Movies banner is going to celebrate Silver Jubilee in the year 2010.”

Briefing about his role Nag said, “I play a very unique role in this film. I appear in various get-ups and cheat everyone. I was very happy when I saw the final rushes. Those who saw my stills are also commenting that I am looking very fresh. The stills that were revealed in websites indicated that I play the role of a guy who practices gambling and card games. It is not so, it is just the hobby of the character in the film but not the main feature.”

Further speaking he said, “Although this film has some gambling part in the film it has got no resemblance of James Bond’s ‘Casino Royale’. The main thing I liked in this film is the script. Kiran provided the dialogues for my TV serial ‘Yuva’ and at that time he narrated this story to me. I was immensely impressed with the way he narrated and decided to do it. The script and my characterization no doubt is very new and challenging to me.”

Producer Siva Prasad Reddy said, “In this happy occasion I would like to announce that 2010 is a very special year for me as I am releasing Nagarjuna’s film in the 25th year of my production house and at the same time also launching a new film with his son Naga Chaitanya. Nag and I are good friends for the past 25 years and have been playing with his son Chaitu from the time he was 3 year old. And now, it’s unbelievable that I am going to produce a film with Chaitu as hero.”

Director Kiran informed, “We selected this title mainly because it aptly suited the story than the other two titles.”

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame Ankur is making his debut in Tollywood through this flick. He is playing a negative role called Chandra.
