Hyderabad, April 16, 2018: Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, one of the oldest Rotary Clubs in the city organised on Sunday night a unique Ramp Walk, the annual fund raiser event here in the city at N Convention Center on Sunday night.
60 youth, each contributing Rs 20,000/- got to walk in designer finery.
The event was taken up third time in row by the Club to raise funds for the up gradation of existing 12 bedded Dialysis centre to 16 beds as the existing set up is utilized 100%. Hence, there was a need for the funds informed Som Dutt Sharma, President of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan. Further, we are also planning to upgrade the existing medical centre which serves 200-300 patients everyday with state of art equipment to serve the needy irrespective of caste and creed for various illnesses, added Som.
This is a Rs 95 lakh project. We will raise Rs 30 lakh through this event. But we have have to consider expenditure. After that we will get matching grants from our Rotary International Foundation and our Global Partner, Som added.
The show hadShivani—Tollywood Fame; Poonam Kaur—Tollywood Fame; and Rumana Sinha—Mrs. India Universe as show stoppers.
Three well known Fashion Designers Kavita Bhartia; Mahima Mahajan; Chhaya Mehrotra and Aditya Dugar designed clothes for the show. It was choreographed by city’s well known choreographer Imran Khan.
500 guests graced the event.
We have set up a charitable Dialysis centre at Secunderabad in the year 2016 to serve the needy of the society which provided a session of Dialysis treatment at just Rs.300/- against a private hospital charging Rs.3,500/- for the same, while keeping at par with them on all quality parameters. We have conducted 10000 dialysis in the last year, Som informed.
We have also upgraded our existing blood bank in the year 2017 with the state of art equipment to support the cause of treatment for Thalassemia Children. This facility will enable us to supply free blood to the children suffering from this rare blood disorder. A state of art mobile Blood Bank van is on the run to support the blood donation camp in various parts of the city, Som DUTT Sharma added.
