Hyderabad, September 2013: Silk Mark - Vanya silk a six -day Expo 2013 was inaugurated at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur by Smt Vimala Narsimhan, First Lady of Andhra Pradesh. Organized by Silk mark organization of India Hyderabad Chapter (An initiative of Central silk board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India).
"Silk Mark Expos provide an excellent platform for the Silk Lovers who care for its aesthetic value, to come and experience the most premium silks showcased by the master craftsmen and weavers hailing from far flung weaving clusters of India" said Sericulture Commissioner I.F.S. Rama Lakshmi.
"Silk Mark Expos have scaled many heights in past few years and strives to assemble the silk lovers of the hosting city under one roof by providing a platform for all the stake holders to assemble associate and exchange views and also experience the innovations happening in various production centers. These Expos provides a great thrust to generic promotion of silk as well by building up the brand equity of Silk Mark" Central Silk Board deputy secretary Satish Kumar, senior Silk Mark executive Y.Srinivas Rao added.
Srimathi Silk Mark Hyderabad 2013 jury members Fashion Choreographer Joseph Sundar, Colorz Beauty Studio M.D. Shravani Reddy, Secunderabad Cantonment Rotary club president Dr. Seeta Vuppala also graced the occasion.

Exposition will be on till 4th October 2013, showcasing the entire range of pure silkshailing from remote weaving cluster of India under one roof by 80 participants from over 15 Indian states, exquisite sarees and dresses in the pure silkcollection are Kanjeevaram, Aarni, Plain printed / creape silk from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka; Kalamkari, Pochampalli, Dharmavaram, Gadwal and Upada from Andhra Pradesh; Baluchari, Kantha Embroidery, Madhubani, Sambalpuri and Patachitra from West Bengal and Orissa; ValKalam, Jamavar and pure Tanchoi from Varanasi and Kosa Silk / Tribal Prints from Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh Tasaar Silk Sarees & Dress Materials from Bihar and Jharkhand, Embroider/ on Chinnon, Chiffon and Georgette from Kashmir and huge collection of Printed SilkSarees from all over India.
