Bhavan’s Vivekananda College celebrated the 69th Independence Day with a sense of joy and patriotic fervour. The college wore a fesive look with tricolours fluttering everywhere.
Today is a day which fills the heart of every Bhavanite with a feeling of pride and glory for his motherland.
The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief guest, Col. (Retd.) M Vijay Rao, Hon. Director, BVC. Principal Prof. Y Ashok greeted the students and the staff on the eve of Independence Day. The NCC wing of the college presented a brilliant march parade.
Students paid rich tributes to our great leaders and martyrs who laid down their lives to attain freedom for India, through their inspiring and emotional speeches in English and various Indian languages.
Bhavanites who have excelled in their subjects were felicitated and awarded certificates by the Chief Guest and congratulated by the Director, Col. M Vijay Rao, Principal, Prof. Y Ashok and Mrs. B Niraimathi, Head, Department of Physics & Electronics.
This was followed by a short cultural programme.
The Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Niraimathi.
Independence day is a day when we all enliven the spirit of freedom and enshrine a vision for a great India.
Let us all unite and strive to build a strong and prosperous India.
